Not My Child Monday
My 4 year old girl child did not decide to sleep naked and then proceede to run all over the house naked as her older brother rolled his eyes.
My 13 year old boy child has not decided to be an argumentative teenager, and is nice enough to be the same way with his grandparents.
Neither child decided to skip breakfast on Sunday, when told that we were going to the zoo and would only be getting snacks there since its so expensive. They were woken up in plenty of time to get a good breakfast and neither one turned their noses up at it. So that at the zoo neither pestered said grandparents for food.
Neither child also didn’t step into school today, so I do not have a 4 year old pre-schooler or an 8th grader.

Not Me Monday
This week I once again didn’t let the kids sleep in till noon, instead of getting us all used to the early morning schedule we need for next week when school starts.
I also have not been letting my 4 year old daughter run around the house naked, after she wakes up. Nope I’ve been making her get dressed before she leaves my room.
I also have not been making up my daughters school wardrobe from her brothers old clothes, which she way more prefers than anything I could actually buy for her.
I also didn’t use the excuse that the child support check hasn’t come in yet so we had way to many dinners of mac and cheese and spaghetti last week since we were running out of groceries.
I also didn’t have a great time with the kids at the Science and Industry museum and let my parents pay for everything (though they are members so it was only a quick lunch and parking) since after all the child support check hasn’t come in yet.

Thursday Thirteen – Least Favorite Chores at Home
1. Laundry
Doing the Laundry isn’t to bad, its the folding and the putting away that I dislike. Putting it in the washing machine and then in the dryer is definately the easy part.
2. Dinner
The figuring out what to make every night is the part of this chore I don’t care for. I actually enjoy cooking, as long as I have figured out what to make and if I have all of the ingredients here at home.
3. Cleaning the Bathroom
Like with everything else, if people here would help out and clean up thier little messes when they happen this one wouldn’t be so bad. But they don’t, so when I do get to this chore it takes longer and much more elbow greese than I’d really like to spend.
4. Mowing the Law
This one is just time consuming, if I was able to do this one quicker I would like it better.
5. Dishes
Like the laundry this chore just never seems to end.
6. Grocery Shopping
With the kids, an excercise in patience and endurance.
7. Bedtime with the kids
Neither one of them willingly goes to bed when they are suposed to, so this makes getting them up in the morning more difficult.
8. Making My Bed
It’s just going to get all messed up tonight!
9. Cleaning the Litter Pan
Need I say more
10. Vaccuming
All those little toys that the kids have definately make this harder.
11. Garbage
No putting the Grabage out really is not a big deal to me, its the getting the garbage from the multiple cans in the house that I dislike. Beacuse it always seems to have spilled out of the can and create an extra mess on the floor, since no one else here seems willing to take the extra step it once again falls to me.
12. Cleaning the Car
Even though its the kids who bring the junk in (95% of the time) it always falls to me to clean the car out.
13. Paying Bills
There is never enough money for everything

Another Day
So today we did nothing, well I did do a load of dishes and 2 loads of laundry. Matt did go to cross country camp, and I went to the parents meeting. That is it though, no going through the basement or garage, no working on real work. Oh that’s right, this happened because I was hounding Matt all day getting him to do his Summer homework for English. I needed to force him to work so that we can go to he Science and Industry Museum tomorrow. He will be bringing his book along and reading in the car as we travel- I wish he didn’t fight me on this but what 13 year old wouldn’t.

Not Me Monday
I did not send my 14 year old to a 6 year old cousins B-day party yesterday, with his dad and 4 year old sister. Knowing that he would be bored out of his mind (but he does need to visit with that side of the family). While I went out to walk around a nice Art show and then the mall. Following up the evening with a dinner at Red Lobster. Enjoying adult company with no kids. Then to add insult to injury I didn’t position the Red Lobster take home bag nicely in the recycling bin (loaded with recyclables from the kitchen) so that the soon to be ex could see it when he brought the kids home.
I also have not been letting the kids stay up way to late, so that I can finish up on some of my own work, and play Sims 3 way to late.
I did not let the kids sleep in today, and while they were sleeping take a 45 min trip to the college and pick up my school books for classes that start in a few weeks. Only to find that the kids are still sleeping… and sleeping past noon.
I have not been letting the 14 year old put off his summer reading projects that are due in 2 weeks, and he’s not even 1/2 way through with the one and he needs to re-read the fiction book for the written test when school starts.
I also did not unplug the desktop computer from the Internet, and plan on disconnecting the 14 year olds ipod touch/iphone so he can’t access WiFi and only play games. So that his school work can be finished.
I also did not finish all of the cleaning projects for the house last week, so that I am even closer to getting this place on the market- there are still a gazillion books in the basement and millions of clothing items that need to be gone through. Instead we did not go to movies 3 out of 5 days last week.
This week will be better and I will get things done.

Spiritual Sunday
An exercise that my son goes through weekly in his Bible class at school.

Daniel 12:10
New American Standard Bible (©1995)
“Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
O.
People will do what they want to do, no mater what they are either told or shown. Some people just do not truly care about other and only care about themselves, they are really selfish. Eventually they will be forced to answer to a higher power on how they live their lives today on Earth. People who are really unselfish, and truly work to emulate Jesus in their daily lives will have no fear of what happens to themselves after they end their time here on Earth, they will be in Heaven will others like them.
A.
We really need to be unselfish, and treat others like we ourselves want to be treated. We need to work to live our lives like Jesus, even if it means stepping out of our comfort zones.
P.
I pray that Everyone lives to the best of thier own person abilities. That they treat others like they themselves wish to be treated.

Follow Up Friday Week # 32
Well this sure has been week for us to see movies. We saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Inkheart, Transformers 2, and GI Joe. Wow I have not seen so many movies in a week since my college days, and that was even at the same movie theater we saw Inkheart and Transformer 2. With so many movies, I am also going to have to make sure I do get off my tail and work out. Since I can not go to a movie and not get some pop and popcorn. Plus both theaters we went to offer free refills on both, and we do tend to take advantage of it.
I also had my semi-anual Dentist visit, so the kids went with my parents to Melinium Park. There they were able to play in the water and take advantage of some other free kid activities. While I did enjoy a day to myself, and the time to get more things done around here.
Matt also made it to one of his cross country camp practices, and his Judo class.
With only 2 weeks left of summer we are moving closer and closer to the end of Summer 2009. Time as usual has flown by, so I am planning on doing my best to enjoy the 2 weeks. Because when this is over things will really be getting busy.

Double Header Today
Today we went to the movie theater to see the $1 show of Inkheart, we’ve seen it twice before but its a good movie and for a $1 you can’t go wrong. We also stayed to see Transformers 2, which really was awsome. It’s been awhile since we’ve done a double header, but at this theater with free refills on pop and popcorn it really was a great deal- since the kids went to get the refills between movies while I went out to get the tickets for the 2nd show.
Tonight we will watch the 2nd part of America’s Got Talent and see if the 2 groups we want to move on actually will. Tomorrow I go to the Dentist, and the kids go to Navy Pier or Millennium Park (which ever my folks choose).

Another Lazy Day Today
Oh man am I not looking forward to the 24th when the 3 of us go back to school. It is so nice easy just letting the kids stay up a bit later then sleep in till 10:30 or so. Today we didn’t have anything to do till 7 when Matt had his cross country camp. So the kids did their usual, harass each other cry scream push pull fight all the stuff they do every day. I’m so happy that their dad let them play with dart guns this weekend. This really just increases the aggressiveness in them, which of course I deal with. But oh well, we deal with the hands we get. ![]()
Tonight we also watch America’s Got Talent, we have always enjoyed that show and this year is no excepion.
This is my favorite group/act: The Platt Brothers (from their first appearance on the show)
Matt’s favored one: Acrodunk, Amazing Dunkers
These 2 are our favorites, but other groups also did great (you can see more from the show on the NBC.com site)

New Harry Potter Movie
Today we took a break from cleaning, and Matt’s schoolwork. We went to see the new Harry Potter movie, it was great even Emmy really liked it. Now it has been some time since we have read the book, and we know that there are differences between the two. But with out considering the book at all the movie really was great, what was missing and what was changed definately did not ruin the story at all. I can not wait for the next one to come out.
